NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Switch and Data (NASDAQ: SDXC), a leading provider of network neutral data center and Internet exchange services announced today that Atlantic Metro Communications, a recognized SAS 70 managed Internet service provider offering managed colocation, IP transit, nationwide transport and New York metro area dark fiber solutions has expanded its network Points of Presence (PoPs) at Switch and Data’s sites in North Bergen, NJ and New York 111 8th Avenue. Atlantic Metro offers customers quality IP Transit and low-latency Ethernet Transport with a 100 percent uptime, service-level agreement.

“Switch and Data’s facility provides us with a secure, state-of-the-art facility,” states Stephen Klenert, CEO of Atlantic Metro Communications, “where we can confidently host our customers’ infrastructure. The site offers the ideal mix of flexible floor space and power density that is required by Atlantic Metro to ensure our customers’ managed infrastructure is cost-effective, flexible and secure.”

Atlantic Metro’s network services are now also available in Switch and Data’s 111 8th Avenue site in Manhattan.

“We are pleased that Atlantic Metro has chosen our North Bergen and 111 8th Avenue sites as efficient and cost effective places to offer its network services and house its customers’ managed infrastructure deployments,” said Ernie Sampera, Chief Marketing Officer for Switch and Data. “The high network densities in these sites make them a logical place for service providers to exchange traffic and reach new customers.”

Switch and Data\'s North Bergen site has been built to the company’s high-performance data center standard and can supply more than 200 watts per square foot of power and cooling capacity. At full completion, the site will be supplied with more than 20 Megawatts of power with full N+1 redundancy for its UPS, generator and cooling infrastructure. Switch and Data has interconnected its North Bergen site to its existing 111 8th Avenue and 60 Hudson Street sites in New York, providing access to more than 300 networks and making it one of the most densely interconnected data centers in North America.
