Email Archiving Provider LiveOffice First to Provide Native BlackBerry® Support

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With holiday vacations right around the corner and the busiest travel day of the year almost here, LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) email archiving, email hosting and email continuity solutions, today announced the release of a powerful BlackBerry® app that seamlessly integrates with LiveOffice Personal Archive and LiveOffice Discovery Archive. This new proprietary service lets on-the-go professionals access and search an unlimited number of archived emails, attachments, SMS and PIN-to-PIN messages as well as call log files via their BlackBerry devices anytime – even if their primary email platform is unavailable.

“According to our research, 76 percent of professionals always take their mobile devices with them on vacation. With much of corporate America working ‘out-of-pocket’ this holiday season, many workers still expect to send, receive and search email as if they were in the office. In addition, many of them have zero tolerance for email downtime in or out of the office,” said Michael Osterman, principal analyst with Osterman Research. “LiveOffice is arming these professionals with the technology they need to remain fully productive on their BlackBerry devices, whether they are searching for an email from a year ago, looking for an important text message from last month or trying to find a number they dialed just two weeks ago.”

With this new BlackBerry offering, LiveOffice customers get:

  • Advanced Search and Restore Capabilities: Personal Archive for BlackBerry gives end users virtually unlimited mailboxes on their devices. With access to emails, attachments, SMS text and PIN-to-PIN messages, end users can perform advanced searches to find any message they send and receive, even if it no longer resides on their server (hosted or on-premise). In addition, with access to call log files, they can also find phone numbers they previously dialed, even if the phone number is no longer in their device’s call history. Plus, if they want to restore an email, SMS or PIN-to-PIN message back to their inbox for further action, they can do it themselves with the click of a button. Since all messages sync in the archive, they are also searchable via users’ Personal Archive folder in Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes.
  • Uninterrupted Access to Messages: Email’s status as the number-one communication and collaboration tool in the office means that professionals have no tolerance for outages, especially when they are relying solely on their BlackBerry devices. Working as a backup and continuity solution for email, Personal Archive for BlackBerry enables customers to continue sending and receiving messages, even when their primary email platform (hosted or on-premise) is unavailable. With these unique features, workers are able to compose, reply to and send messages in real time, using the Personal Archive interface on their BlackBerry devices, so they are never out of touch with the office or important clients.
  • Better Legal Discovery Preparedness: LiveOffice is the first archiving company to provide customers with a single solution for archiving emails as well as the most commonly used BlackBerry file types. With Discovery Archive for BlackBerry, customers are able to better prepare for legal discovery requests by ensuring that all messages, attachments and call log files are indexed and stored in a central repository. This functionality means that approved personnel can access individual archives or the company-wide archive anytime to retrieve messages that are part of a legal investigation or compliance audit. Plus, once messages or call log files become part of a review, all audit trails are noted and fully reportable.

How it Works

System administrators can easily deploy the BlackBerry archiving service to end users via a web link or by pushing it through their BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Once the app is downloaded, the LiveOffice icon quickly appears on the device home screen. End users click on it to login to the app, using their existing LiveOffice Personal Archive credentials. They can then immediately begin conducting advanced searches of all messages and call log files stored in their individual archives. The app requires no additional hardware or software installations.
