NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LCPA, the world’s largest performing arts center, has moved its website LincolnCenter.org to a private cloud hosted by Logicworks.
Lincoln Center is well known for its contributions to New York City’s cultural and intellectual life, with an internationally recognized reputation for artistic excellence. Lincoln Center serves as a dynamic economic engine for the region, hosting some five million New York City visitors annually and reaching a global audience via the Web. In seeking a cloud computing vendor, the fact that Logicworks was founded in Manhattan over eighteen years ago made it an obvious fit. However, doing business with another New York original wasn’t the only factor in the decision.
“I was drawn to cloud computing because of the ability to cut costs while increasing scalability,” says Lincoln Center’s Chief Technology Officer Robert Tarleton, “but I also needed to maintain the levels of security and performance required across our organization. “
Amidst a dense cloud of industry jargon, Logicworks defines a private cloud as an environment where clients can create virtual servers on-demand that are hosted on dedicated equipment in one of Logicworks’ datacenters. This approach has been popular for other Logicworks clients like NBC Universal, Major League Baseball Advanced Media, and Dow Jones, as well as healthcare and finance clients who require advanced security for industry compliance. In 2011 Logicworks will be hosting a Health Information Exchange for the State of Alaska through a partnership with software company Orion Health and the Alaska eHealth Network (AeHN).
“When we launched our private cloud service in 2007 to bring a new level of security and performance into the cloud computing marketplace, it initially caught the attention of early adopters looking to leverage virtualization.” says Kenneth Ziegler, President and Chief Operating Officer at Logicworks. “Today, Logicworks’ managed cloud solutions are solving the performance, scalability, and flexibility requirements for innovative, world-class organizations like Lincoln Center." In addition to private cloud solutions, Logicworks offers a public cloud called infiniCloudTM and an array of managed services for digital publishing, database management, and disaster recovery.
