Spirent Showcases the Reality of Cloud and Data Center Network Performance at Interop 2011

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As the industry debates the security and reliability of cloud computing and public data centers at Interop Las Vegas 2011, May 9 – 12, Spirent will demonstrate and discuss how service providers and enterprises can effectively prepare for the uncertainties and pitfalls of these emerging network environments.

Understanding Today’s Cloud Reality - Addressing the Critical Questions for a Connected World

Cloud computing offers tremendous opportunities. However, not understanding the impact on service performance, availability, security, and scale (PASS) when moving enterprise workloads into the cloud will have serious consequences. At booth #733, Spirent experts will deliver short presentations which answer key questions enterprises need to ask themselves including:

    * Are all cloud service providers equal?
    * Do all cloud solutions provide the same performance?
    * How can cloud security be ensured?

Live On-site Demos at Interop

During the show, Spirent solutions are putting leading cloud infrastructure solutions to the test. Live demonstrations will take place at the following booths:

    * Extreme Networks (Booth #2051) – Spirent will test 40GbE data center switch performance
    * Napatech (Booth #739) – Spirent will test the performance of the industry’s first data center virtualization environments supporting 40GbE server interfaces
    * Net Optics (Booth #1262) – Spirent will test and measure the performance, availability, security and scale (PASS) of a data center virtualization network monitoring tool

Building a Better Cloud

Spirent’s data center and cloud computing expert, Jurrie van den Breekel, will join a discussion with executives from Brocade, Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks at the Carrier Cloud Forum at 1:15 pm on Monday, May 9 at the Jasmine E room at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. During a session entitled “Building a Secure, High Performance Cloud Service,” van den Breekel will address how carriers can deliver high performance, secure cloud services at the promised SLAs.
