OpenStack Design Summit & Conference Promises to be Center of the Open Cloud Movement


AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The fifth OpenStack® Design Summit & Conference organized by Rackspace® Hosting with headline sponsors HP, Nebula and Ubuntu supported by Canonical, will take place April 16 - 20 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco, CA. With a growing development community, more than 100,000 downloads and 150 participating companies, OpenStack, the cloud operating system, has seen tremendous end user and commercial interest as an open standard to manage compute, storage and networking resources across datacenters.

Developers from all over the world that are contributing to OpenStack will gather at the Design Summit on April 16 - 18 to plan the sixth software release scheduled for Fall 2012. Immediately following the Design Summit, OpenStack users, members of the commercial ecosystem and contributors in the technical community will gather for the OpenStack Conference on April 19 - 20. The conference will feature:

    Keynotes sessions from Zorawar ‘Biri’ Singh, SVP and GM, HP Cloud Services, Chris C. Kemp, co-founder of OpenStack and CEO of Nebula; John Engates, CTO and Mark Interrante, VP of Products at Rackspace; and Mark Shuttleworth, founder of Ubuntu;

  •     Panels about community strategy and vision, technical debates, cloud standards and investing in the OpenStack community; and,
